I have already booked a photographer for the show.
Then you have your stage coverage sorted, and this is a different thing. Stage and backstage coverage is somebody photographing an event you happen to be in — you get what the schedule and the lighting allow. A private session is time that belongs only to you, with direction, a location chosen for you, and wardrobe you decide on. Plenty of competitors do both. If your existing photographer covers the show, book us for Friday and keep them for Sunday.
Is this worth it on top of everything the show already costs?
Fair question, and we would rather you ask it than quietly decide no. You have already paid for the prep, the coach, the suit, the tan and the travel. This is the only line item that still exists in twelve months. If the budget is genuinely tight, the one-hour Signature at $500 is a real session and not a consolation prize — five finished images from an hour with two photographers is more than most people get from a half day.
When exactly is my tan going to be a problem?
Once the glaze is on, we plan around it: no light-coloured wardrobe, no sitting on pale surfaces, minimal changes, and we work fast. It is completely doable and we do it every show. But if you want several looks or more than one location, put your session before the tan — Thursday or early Friday. Tell us your tan appointment on the form and we will tell you honestly what each day can deliver.
I have never done a photoshoot. Will I look like an idiot?
No, and it is the single most common thing people say to us beforehand. The first time feels like writing with your opposite hand — everyone's does. We demonstrate where the space allows and direct you out loud where it doesn't, and we do not move on until something is working. You do not need to arrive knowing anything.
What do I actually get, and when?
Every frame from the session, colour-corrected, in a password-protected gallery — not a selected handful. You choose your favourites and we finish those: five finished images for every hour booked. JPEGs, no watermark, yours to download and keep. Usually two to three days after the shoot, though a show weekend can push it toward a week.
Who sees my images?
Only us. We do all our own editing and never send files to an outside retoucher. Nothing of yours is published anywhere unless you have said yes in writing, on a form we send after you have seen the gallery — and that consent is revocable at any time, unconditionally.
Can I shoot Thursday or Monday?
Possibly. We fly in on Thursday the 17th and out on Monday the 21st, and we have not ticketed yet — so both days are open by request until we book. Thursday is genuinely the best editorial window of the weekend if you want several looks. Ask now rather than later; once the flights are booked it is Friday and Saturday only.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Tell us as early as you can and we will move you if there is anywhere to move you to — the weekend is only twelve core hours, so late changes are genuinely hard to absorb. Deposits hold a specific slot and are not refundable once we have turned other competitors away for that time, but they travel with you to another slot that weekend where one exists.
