This policy explains what LHGFX Photography (“LHGFX”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this site, why we collect it, and who else touches it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
To answer your enquiry and quote you a rate; to deliver presets you have paid for; to tell you the preset store has opened if you asked to be told; and, if you asked for it, to email you when a travel date or an offer opens up. That is the entire list.
We use a small number of third parties to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
We own the copyright in the photographs we take. That is the default under US copyright law and it is the same arrangement every professional photographer works under. What you receive is a broad licence to use your images personally — print them, share them, post them — for as long as you like.
Whether we may publish you is a separate decision, and it starts with you. We do not publish, print, post or submit an image of a client anywhere, including this site and our own social accounts, unless that client has said yes. We ask after your gallery has been delivered, never at booking, so that you are choosing from photographs you have actually seen rather than ones that do not exist yet.
It is opt-in. If you sign nothing, the answer is no — and that changes nothing about your session, your gallery, or your files.
Opting in is mutual. It gives you and us the same freedom to use the images you selected to promote ourselves — you post them, we post them. It is a promotional licence running both ways, not a transfer of anything: copyright stays with us, and the broad personal licence described above stays with you.
Publishing an image yourself opts that image in. If you post a photograph from your session on a public account, we may use it too — reshare it, feature it on this site, keep it in the portfolio. We take a frame you have shown the world as one you are content to be seen in. This applies only to photographs from your own session with us, only from an account that is publicly visible, and never to the categories below.
Nude, implied-nude and partial-nude work is excluded from both routes, and so is every image of anyone under 18. Those are permitted one image at a time, in writing, in advance, or not at all. A public post is never treated as consent for them, whoever posted it.
You can withdraw permission at any time, in writing, without giving a reason — including for an image you opened up by publishing it yourself. Telling us to stop is enough; you do not have to take your own post down first. We take the images down from anywhere we have used them. If you would also like your gallery gone, we delete it and the files are moved to an encrypted drive that nobody can access. We will tell you when it is done. The only things beyond our reach are copies already printed, already published by a third party, or already saved by someone else — we can stop using an image, but we cannot recall what has already left our hands.
Booking enquiries are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Mailing-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Preset-waitlist sign-ups are kept until the store opens and we have told you about it — after that, you stay on the list only if you choose to; you can ask to come off at any time, and the announcement email carries an unsubscribe link. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you — at any time, for any reason, without explaining why. Email harry@lhgfxmedia.com and we will action it. Every marketing email also has an unsubscribe link.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Sessions involving anyone under 18 are booked with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must be present for the whole session. A minor cannot give permission for us to publish their images; only a parent or legal guardian can, on the same withdrawable terms as everyone else. We do not photograph or film boudoir, implied-nude or nude work involving anyone under 18, under any circumstances.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
